In 1987 Club '84 member Donato Pompo had a brain storm! "Let's educate our industry through humor!" After in-depth research and some persuasion, Club '84 became committed in developing educational cartoons for the ceramic tile and stone industry under Donato's leadership. After many interviews the cartoon committee, consisting of Griff Williams, Bill Klein and myself, selected Randy Veroustrate as the cartoonist to translate, illustrate and communicate educational issues and concerns with humor. For many years TileWise Cartoons were printed in each issue of the Tile Industry News until the publication ceased in 1999. Club'84 is a non-profit organization of accomplished individuals from all segments of the Ceramic Tile Industry who promoted the use and awareness of ceramic tile through education www.Club84.org.
Unfortunately Randy became ill with cancer and passed on in 1999 "to dance with Jesus," as his young son Remie said. Randy had an amazing talent and gift to be such an accomplished artist. He was a very special person and had a very special family that he loved and cherished beyond words.
In Randy's memory, I am dedicating this section of the web site for him, his family, and the Ceramic Tile and Stone Industry who deeply benefited from his brilliance.
The TileWise Cartoons will be displayed and available for your use. Restricted to limited single use. Randy's precious wife Suzanne is working hard to care for their precious sons Rudie and Remie.
